Throughout most of my life, I was sick week in and week out. As a kid, I loved having to skip school all the time because my dad worked from home so we always found something fun to do when I started to feel a bit better. As an adult, well it stopped being fun. It’s really debilitating to feel constantly sick. I saw countless doctors and tried dozens of alternative therapies, medicines, supplements. None of it helped. I suffered from chronic respiratory tract infections and no matter how much I tried to protect myself, the smallest change of environment would take me back to square one. It became a household joke between my roommate and me that maybe I was under a voodoo spell, and someone was having a blast manipulating my health. Well, it sure felt like manipulation to me.
About six months ago, I overheard people at the grocery store talking about organic Chaga tea and how they used it for a variety of ailments. I didn’t pay much attention at the time because, frankly, all that enthusiasm sounded like an infomercial or the keynote at a multi-level marketing sort of conference. It stuck to the back of my mind though and it came back to me when I was sick in bed for the millionth time. What had they said? That the wild Chaga mushroom tea boosts the immune system? Had I dreamed about it?
I texted my roommate to find me some Chaga Earth tea and bring it over. I was willing to test it out. An all-natural supplement couldn’t hurt and I had done some online research to make sure what I had overheard was accurate.
Well, I can’t remember the last time I was sick. I mean, I do, it was six months ago. Being able to breathe is my greatest achievement of last year. For real! Of course, my roommate now calls the Chaga Earth loose tea the most powerful weapon against voodoo spells… I say sometimes eavesdropping at the supermarket checkout line pays off.
