As a flight attendant, I often get complaints from frequent flyers who are tired of the same food and drinks. Trust me, when you’ve traveled a lot in one year, you can easily grow tired of the menu. Traveling often is not as glamorous as people want you to believe.
I can’t blame them because I hate most of the airplane food and tea myself, which is why I always travel with tea bags of Chaga Earth organic Chaga tea.
On one of my long-haul flights last month, I was traveling with a passenger who I now considered a good friend, since it was common for us to be on the same flights and there was one day when we realized we were staying at the same hotel. I invited her for coffee and a chat on my break but she said she would skip the lousy airplane coffee unless I had a better offer for her. Well, the only thing I had were my tea bags of wild Chaga mushroom tea but I didn’t think she would like it.
At the time, I was drinking it for my swollen legs and feet. Being on heels for hours inside a plane can really make you feel very uncomfortable. The tea helped me relax and detox. It would be a bit odd to brew her a cup of my tea but why not? I remember her face when I described what the mushroom was but assured her the taste was very mild. If she still found it weird, she could add a bit of honey to make it sweeter.
Would you believe me if I told you she never had any other type of tea after that? That’s all she drinks now. Now when we happen to fly together, she knows I’ll understand why all she wants is a cup of boiling hot water with her in-flight breakfast. She travels with her own tea bags now.
