I always had dogs growing up and I always had my heart broken when they died too soon. Back in the day, we didn’t do more than going to the regular vet appointment and give them their shots. These days things have changed a lot in the way we treat our pets, they’ve become part of the family and we treat them with a little more kindness.
Oscar was a debilitated little puppy when I rescued him from the shelter. Compared to the other dogs I had at the farm, all rescued from the same shelter, Oscar took longer to bounce back from living with abusive owners. I knew from the start my approach had to be different. He would vomit every type of store-bought food I would get him, so I started to feed him the old way, with boiled bones and my own recipe for organic food.
That approach got some meat on his bones and he was finally starting to show some energy. His shots were in order and the vet was amazed at his progress. He was bound to be a very healthy dog. But I still had issues with getting his immune system to follow suit and I was terrified of “dog flu”, a disease that had killed many of my dogs in the past. I knew that boosting his antiviral activity was crucial but he wouldn’t handle any of the antibiotics the vet gave me. Again, I went the organic way and realized the organic Chaga benefits would also be great for him. But instead of brewing him a special batch of organic Chaga tea, something I’m sure he wouldn’t take, I found Chaga Pet made with organic Chaga mushroom powder.
If you have a dog as picky as Oscar, you can’t go wrong with Chaga dog treats!
